Bartender

About the Role

We are seeking a professional, high-energy, and friendly Bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classic cocktails and innovative beverages to our members and guests. The Bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. They will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming members and guests, determining beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
• Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages.
• Checking identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Taking inventory and ordering supplies to keep the bar and tables well-stocked.
• Adhering to food safety and quality regulations.
• Maintaining a clean work area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Developing new cocktail recipes.

Requirements

• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to work long hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to remain on feet for the majority of the workday.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
• 2+ years of bartending/serving or related experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as required by law.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service/hospitality.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
