About the role

Responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operation of the bar. Takes drink orders from patrons or servers, prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes, mixes cocktails, and serves wine and beer. Handles payments, makes change, and may also wash glassware, prepare garnishes, and take food orders for patrons at the bar or for take-out.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a positive attendance record by reporting to work 10 minutes prior to scheduled shifts, following company time-off procedures, and having a 0% no-call/no-show record.
• Follows all sanitation and safety standards; maintains a score of 90% or better on audits.
• Meets all uniform, appearance, and grooming standards as specified in the Employee Handbook and Bartender Training Manual.
• Maintains guest service philosophy with a customer complaint ratio of less than 1 per 100 customers served.
• Knows all menu items and accurately explains specials, preparation methods, ingredients, portion sizes, and substitutions to guests.
• Greets guests within 30 seconds of seating and takes orders if time permits, or returns within 3 minutes.
• Performs menu merchandising by listing and explaining drink and menu specials, suggestive selling, and upselling when appropriate.
• Takes beverage and food orders accurately with less than 2% return due to mistakes.
• Legibly completes guest checks and accurately enters orders into the POS system with 100% accuracy.
• Picks up orders and completes plate preparation correctly as specified by company plating procedures.
• Serves a complete meal to all persons at the bar within 20 minutes.
• Performs check-back procedures within 2 minutes of serving beverages, appetizers, main course, and dessert.
• Totals and presents checks and carries out payment procedures with 100% accuracy.
• Completes phone-in or take-out orders with 100% accuracy in POS system and preparation.
• Performs side-work duties correctly as required.
• Follows all end-of-shift checkout procedures with 100% accuracy.
• Follows alcohol serving procedures, awareness standards, and government regulations with 100% accuracy.
• Prepares standard drink recipes 100% of the time.
• Busses bar items within 3 minutes of guests leaving.
• Maintains a good team environment by assisting other team members with their duties when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years of age to complete service training and taste product for quality assurance.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Must have the ability to stand, walk, lift, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well with others.
• Must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Must be efficient and accurate with money and figures.
• Must possess manual ability to operate the register system and handle/serve food.
• Must be able to pass food safety training.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
