Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines
- Greet guests warmly, take drink and food orders, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, beer, wine, and menu items
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout the shift, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies
- Monitor guest consumption responsibly and adhere to all alcohol service laws and regulations, including checking identification
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and in accordance with company cash handling policies
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Build rapport with guests to create a welcoming and memorable bar experience that encourages repeat visits
- Set up and break down the bar before and after each shift, ensuring the bar is properly stocked and cleaned for the next service
- Monitor and communicate inventory levels, alerting management when supplies need to be replenished
- Assist with training and mentoring new bar staff as needed
- Uphold all company policies, health codes, and sanitation standards at all times
Requirements
- 1-2 years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar environment preferred
- Solid knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
- Michigan TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred
- Strong guest service skills with an outgoing, engaging personality
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong cash handling and basic math skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds regularly
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol per Michigan state law
