Bartender at Salt Harvest
Reports to Restaurant Manager; position is non-exempt.
About the role
The Bartender reports to Food + Beverage Leadership and works in a team environment with other F+B professionals. It is critical the person in this position possesses a background and knowledge in service techniques and has a natural ability to manage time. The Bartender is responsible for creating memorable guest experiences. Ongoing beverage tasting and training will allow the Bartender to expand their knowledge of drinks and techniques.
Salt Harvest brings hearth-inspired cooking to the table. Open flame, smoke, and char shape a menu built around fresh seafood, locally grown produce, and sustainably sourced meats. Small plates invite sharing, while bold, comforting entrées highlight the depth of each ingredient. With a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it offers an experience of honest flavors, good company, and food that feels both timeless and full of character.
Responsibilities
- Uphold and model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character, driving collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
- Own all aspects of a guest’s Bar experience from extending a warm greeting to executing on requests in a friendly and timely manner
- Participate in daily lineups and staff meetings to further develop ideas and objectives with the service team
- Be accountable for working knowledge of the menu; serve alcohol safely, responsibly, and legally; and accurately account for all monetary transactions during your shift
- Share your extensive knowledge of the beverage world with your guests, using your product knowledge to enhance a guest experience and offer relevant additions
- Ensure your workstation is clean and organized, with the utmost respect for your guests, peers, and equipment
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic beer, wine, spirit, and cocktail terms and strive to know more
- Observe conditions of all physical facilities and relay any challenges to the food and beverage leadership team to make corrections and improvements as needed
- Assist in other areas of the F+B Department as needed
Requirements
- Passion for the People, Place and Culture of our community, love of restaurants and guest service
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Bartender in either a free-standing or hotel bar
- Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol Servers Permit (MAST) and WA Food handler Permit within 14 days of hire
- Ability to meet local age requirements to serve alcohol
- Availability to work a flexible schedule to include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Fluency in English, verbal and written
- Ability to continuously stand and/or walk for most of a shift
- Ability to lift and/or carry 30 lbs. (chair, table, tray, crate, box, etc.)
- Ability to lift, balance and carry (with assistance) up to 100 lbs. to transport beverage inventory, equipment, etc.

$21.30 hourly rate plus tips
