Q CASINO + RESORT Bartender BASIC FUNCTION The Bartender is responsible for delivering an elevated beverage and hospitality experience consistent with Lock 11's standards of exceptional service. Bartenders prepare and serve beverages with precision, an organized bar, anticipate guest needs, and contribute to an atmosphere that reflects professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality. This position requires extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktails, and responsible alcohol service while working collaboratively with the front and back of house teams to create memorable guest experiences. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Front of House Supervisor/Bar Supervisor Guest Experience SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Welcome every guest promptly with warmth, professionalism, and confidence.Provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and menu pairings.Anticipate guest needs before they are requested.Build genuine relationships with guests while maintaining professional boundaries.Ensure every beverage meets Lock 11 presentation and quality standards.Address guest concerns promptly and notify management when necessary.Thank guests sincerely and invite them to return. Beverage Preparation Prepare classic and signature cocktails according to established recipes.Measure ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and proper cost control.Garnish drinks with precision and attention to presentation.Maintain speed without sacrificing quality.Verify all beverages leaving the bar meet presentation standards.Properly serve wine, champagne, beer, and specialty beverages. Bar Operations Set up and break down the bar according to opening and closing procedures.Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shift.Stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and supplies.Rotate inventory using FIFO principles.Monitor product levels and communicate shortages before they impact service.Complete daily side work and cleaning assignments.Keep bar equipment clean, sanitized, and operational. Service Standards Follow all Lock 11 service steps and hospitality standards.Verify guest identification and comply with all alcohol service laws.Practice responsible alcohol service and recognize signs of intoxication.Maintain awareness of guest pacing and beverage refills.Ensure all beverages are entered accurately into the POS system.Handle guest payments accurately and securely. Teamwork Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, supervisors, and kitchen staff.Support fellow team members during periods of high volume.Assist with food running, glass collection, or other service needs when appropriate.Foster a positive, respectful, and professional work environment.Attend pre-shift meetings and contribute to daily service readiness. Cleanliness & Safety Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation at all times.Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.Ensure all glassware and equipment are clean and polished.Handle chemicals and cleaning products safely.Report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.Follow all company policies regarding cash handling, security, and emergency procedures. Education, Training And Experience Formal education is not required.Relevant food and beverage experience preferred. Respond quickly and effectively to guest inquiries and concerns.Create a welcoming bar environment through engaging conversation, attentiveness and hospitality. Mental And Physical Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business levels. WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS Primarily indoors, may support occasional outside events. Exposure to varying temperatures, and moderate-to-high noise levels.High guest interaction requiring excellent customer service skills.Fast-paced and physically demanding work environment.
