As a Part Time Bartender, you’ll serve beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner to ensure superior guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on daily function projections.
- Cut and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables each shift to ensure product quality.
- Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders.
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes while practicing prudent portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area and personal hygiene.
- Account for all products served through an electronic cash register and consumption sheet documentation systems.
- Maintain proper balance of cash bank.
- Adhere to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations, including laws pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes.
- Basic English language writing skills for completing requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock overhead.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.
- Ability to operate a keyboard and perform point-of-sale procedures to pre-check and close out orders.
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.
- Ability to obtain any government-required license or certificate.
- CPR certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
- Bartending certificate preferred.
- TIPS certification required.
