Key Responsibilities
- Serve beverages: Take and process beverage orders from guests and servers, preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to restaurant standard recipes
- Customer service: Present drink menus, make recommendations, answer questions, and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor
- Order processing: Record drink orders in the register system, accept payment, process credit cards, and make change when needed
- Bar maintenance: Wash, sterilize, and arrange glassware; keep bottles and glasses attractive and functional; replenish snacks and garnishes
- Food service: Serve food orders to guests seated at the bar
- Inventory & supplies: Restock liquors, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic ingredients; requisition supplies as needed
- Safety & compliance: Card patrons, verify IDs, follow safe alcohol serving procedures, and assist intoxicated guests (e.g., arranging transportation)
- Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
- Support duties: Assist with restocking, replenishment, and equipment maintenance; be available to fill in as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Bartender certification or equivalent; 2-4 years’ experience preferred, but entry-level candidates may be considered
- Knowledge: Understanding of beer, wine, and liquor; familiarity with common drink recipes
- Skills: Strong math skills for handling money and operating a cash register; ability to work in a standing position for long periods; physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Interpersonal: High level of professionalism, strong customer service skills, teamwork, and the ability to work independently
- Language: Ability to communicate effectively in the predominant guest language(s)
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, high-demand hospitality setting with regular guests and occasional peak service times
- Requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle change and unexpected events
