About the role

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the bartender oversees bar operations, delivers a pleasant customer experience, prepares and serves drinks, and provides food service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons.
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks.
  • Assess bar customers' needs and preferences; make recommendations.
  • Communicate inventory needs to managers and leads.
  • Follow the company's brand standards and code of business conduct.
  • Keep informed of the company's values and ideal conduct; act accordingly.
  • Pursue operational goals by carrying out assignments tasked by senior employees.
  • Attend necessary training sessions as required by training managers.
  • Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
  • Adhere to hotel grooming standards at all times.
  • Use professional and polished language in all written and oral communication.
  • Lead with passion and enthusiasm, committing to excellence and a creative approach.
  • Create personalized experiences and lasting memories for guests.
  • Ensure implementation of the highest standards in guest service; seek ways to improve product and service, increase volumes, and profits.
  • Follow department policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Adhere to all safety policies.
  • Oversee cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping/maintenance standards.
  • Stand for extended periods or entire work shifts; maintain proper posture.
  • Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
  • Maintain a close, cooperative relationship with other departments to ensure effective communication.
  • Supervise employees' compliance with sanitation, cleanliness, fire prevention, health, and safety standards.
  • Supervise and maintain availability, cleanliness, and tidiness of items used in the department.
  • Represent Lotte Hotel’s service standards; provide distinguished services to all customers.
  • Respond to customer requests promptly and accurately; predict customer needs and resolve complaints.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge concerning hotel services when communicating with customers.
  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers; maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  • Follow company and department policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures stipulated in the Cashier Bank Contract.
  • Ensure uniforms, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional, and compliant with company policies.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in food & beverage services.
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills.
  • Gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with high-level attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and promote teamwork.
  • Results-oriented, flexible, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime as needed.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of drink recipes.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to receive instructions and make reports accurately.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws regarding hotel and restaurant operations.

Qualifications

  • Washington State food handlers permit.
  • MAST 12 beverage service permit.
