Bartender

Key Responsibilities

• Beverage Preparation:
  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Create signature drinks and suggest beverage options to guests.
• Customer Service:
  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service.
  • Take beverage orders and serve drinks promptly.
  • Engage with guests, answer questions, and address any concerns.
  • Build and maintain positive guest relations to encourage repeat business.
• Bar Maintenance:
  • Set up and stock the bar with necessary supplies, including glassware, garnishes, and drink ingredients.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout the shift.
  • Clean and sanitize bar equipment, tools, and glassware.
  • Monitor and manage bar inventory, including restocking items and informing management of low stock levels.
• Compliance and Safety:
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state alcohol service laws.
  • Verify the age of guests to ensure legal drinking age requirements are met.
  • PRACTICE RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL SERVICE AND MONITOR GUESTS FOR SIGNS OF INTOXICATION.
• Cash Handling and Transactions:
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage tabs and process payments.
  • Balance cash register at the end of the shift and report any discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  • Previous experience as a bartender in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of drink recipes and bartending techniques.
• Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
• Certifications:
  • Food Handler’s certification is required.
