Bartender
About the role
The Holiday Inn & Suites Orlando I-Drive - Theme Parks seeks a dynamic bartender to enhance the guest experience and contribute to the hotel's success.
Responsibilities
- Greet and address guests promptly, providing menus and answering questions about drink orders and meal preparation.
- Make meal and drink suggestions as needed and use suggestive selling techniques.
- Take orders, present checks to the cook, and prepare beverages as the bartender.
- Record all sales using the cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
- Balance checks and complete closing paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Serve orders in a professional and pleasant manner, ensuring proper garnishing and timely presentation.
- Continuously monitor guest needs in the bar area, bussing counter, and pouring beverages.
- Respond proactively to guest concerns to resolve issues.
- Perform side work such as garnish preparation, silverware polishing, liquor and beverage stocking, glass cleaning, and sweeping as directed.
- Promote a clean and sanitized environment by practicing the "clean as you go" method and adhering to sanitation standards.
- Report all tips received daily and record them on a tip declaration sheet.
- Assist with room service duties as necessary.
- Check food for appearance, temperature, and portion sizes before serving.
- Use guest names and learn their preferences.
- Attend meetings and training as required by management.

- Ability to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
Required/PREFERRED Education and Experience
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
- 6 months or more of experience working in a bartender role.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Satisfactory criminal background screening required.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record may be required.
Physical Demands
- Stand for entire shift.
- Balance, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, smell, taste, and perform repetitive motions.
- Exert up to 50 pounds of force and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Have visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate machinery and tools, determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of bar/restaurant areas, and make general observations of facilities.
- Work primarily indoors and may be exposed to high or cold temperatures from machinery and moderate noise levels.
Expected Hours of Work
- Variable hours based on hotel needs, including nights and weekends.
