About the Role
Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while taking, filling, and serving drinks and food to guests in an efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and take drink and food orders from guests
- Fulfill orders accurately and in compliance with company standards, following recipes
- Adhere to company, state, county, and city guidelines when serving alcoholic beverages
- Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for alcohol purchases
- Process payments for items served using Point of Sale System (POS) and balance all receipts
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions
- Maintains accurate accounting of inventory at assigned sales location
- Ensure all transfers are fulfilled and without discrepancy or shortages
- Responsible for the completion of setup, as well as prep, opening and closing duties as assigned by Director, Manager and/or Designee
- Keep work area clean and organized, including storage carts and cages, coolers, and warehouse areas
- Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Understand and be capable of ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned
Qualifications
- Willingness and drive to exceed guest expectations
- Must be personable, friendly and welcoming
- Knowledge of and ability to execute drink recipes
- Must be able to create and serve drinks and food in a timely manner
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance and good personal hygiene standards
- Subject to credit and background screening
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required
- Experience in bartending, concessions, or catering preferred
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be personable and proactive in providing guests with the highest level of customer service
- Ability to effectively listen and take direction from supervisor
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, interacting with multiple departments
- Ability to read, speak, and write English language
- Must be able to communicate in a clear manner with guests and teammates
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Demonstrate skill in utilizing Point of Sales systems with Inventory Control
Certifications
- Must have or obtain and maintain ServSafe training certification
Physical Demands
- Must be able to walk/stand extensively, bend, kneel, climb stairs, balance, and maneuver throughout the various areas and surfaces of the venue
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or occasionally more with assistance
- Work inside and outside the building is required and may have some exposure to adverse conditions
- Must be able to hear and speak to use a two-way radio
- Work flexible hours, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
