Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and Serve Beverages: Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to customer preferences and standard recipes. This includes pouring beers, serving wine, and preparing cocktails.
- Responsible Alcohol Service: Verify guests' legal drinking age by checking IDs before serving alcoholic beverages. Strictly adhere to state and local alcohol laws, including refusing service to underage individuals and patrons showing signs of intoxication.
- Maintain Bar Hygiene: Keep the bar area clean and organized, regularly wiping down counters, cleaning glassware, and washing utensils, all while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Control: Track inventory levels, restock bar supplies, and place orders as necessary to ensure the bar is fully stocked with beverages, garnishes, and ingredients.
- Create a Welcoming Atmosphere: Foster a friendly and inviting environment for guests, engage in small talk, and provide excellent customer service to ensure all patrons feel comfortable and valued.
- Customer Service Excellence: Handle customer complaints, feedback, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bartender License: Complete a responsible beverage server training course and obtain an operator's license.
- Bartending Experience: Previous experience (12 years) in a similar role preferred, with a strong understanding of drink recipes and mixology techniques.
- POS and Cash Handling: Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems and managing cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately.
- Age Requirement: Must meet the legal age to serve alcohol in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin (18 years or older).
