Bartender

Pay: $21.50–$22/hour plus a $2/hour attendance bonus. No tips.

About the role

The Bartender at The Newbury of Brookline prepares and serves beverages and food to residents with the highest level of hospitality. You will mix and garnish both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, follow or create recipes, and report to the Dining Room Manager while assisting with other dining needs as required.

Schedule

Full-time, 1:00 PM–9:00 PM shift; one weekend day required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all dining steps of service in a friendly and professional manner.
• Greet and escort residents in the bar area and assist as needed.
• Read and listen to residents to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
• Plan drink menus and inform residents about new beverages and specials.
• Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to residents.
• Take inventory and order supplies to ensure the bar and tables are well-stocked.
• Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or required by the supervisor.

Requirements

• A passion for excellence and a strong moral compass.
• High school graduate preferred.
• Six months to one year of bartending experience.
• Meet state minimum age to serve alcohol.
