About the Role
Kessler Hospitality’s portfolio of artistically inspired boutique hotels features unique design, luxurious accommodations, enriching ambiance, and intuitive service. Located at Casa Monica Resort and Spa, Autograph Collection in St. Augustine’s Historic District, this role immerses you in the rich history of a famed hotel originally built in 1888. The Bartender is responsible for the complete setup of the bar area, mixing drinks, maintaining service and cleanliness, ensuring guest satisfaction, and managing liquor inventory.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times, being attentive, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and ensure prompt and efficient guest service.
- Prepare beverages and cocktails following the hotel’s mixing and presentation standards.
- Serve guests’ beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Break down the bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment properly.
- Follow all state liquor laws and hotel policies, including safety rules.
- Monitor guest behavior to avoid issues with intoxicated guests and respond to complaints or accidents.
- Familiarize yourself with hotel services, fire exit locations, and fire extinguisher operations.
- Keep the bar and service areas clean and tidy during service to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Attend all required meetings and trainings and maintain regular attendance as scheduled.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with hotel standards to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Handle problems proactively, including anticipating, preventing, and resolving issues as necessary.
- Understand and apply complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
- Cross-train in other hotel-related areas as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of information and show initiative in anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Flexible availability, including long hours when required.
- Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling).
- Ability to stand for entire shifts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and guests.
- Effective listening skills to understand and clarify concerns.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
