Work Performed
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis.
- Requisition and stock of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce.
- Maintain stock, cut, and store of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document orders for drinks.
- Mix, garnish, and present drinks following standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
- Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest and personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served in accordance to standard operating procedures.
- Receive payment from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
- Lock up and store all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure bank.
- Keep bar neat and clean, and display glasses and liquors attractively.
- Maintain a pleasant atmosphere in the bar, refuse to serve drunk or unruly patrons, and have them ejected if necessary.
- Assist security with disorderly guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for 8 to 10 hour shifts.
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, stoop, and wipe to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 40 pounds and place items on high and low shelves.
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
Required Experience
- Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.
- Complete knowledge of drink (cocktail) recipes and liquor, beer and wine.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register or POS system, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders.
Training & Experience
- 3 Years Bartending experience required.
- Work well with or without direct supervision.
- Must be flexible to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant.
- Must be able to perform all related duties as assigned.
- Food Handling, CPR, First Aid certificates preferable.
- Must attend Alcohol Awareness training program.
- Must be able to legally prove age of at least 21 years.
Required Education
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
