Bartender

About the role

The purpose of the Bartender position is to provide thorough knowledge and understanding of our beverage collection and prepare drink orders to the Standards of Service. They will be expected to uphold our highest standards of hospitality by being attentive, professional, and efficient behind the bar at all times. They will be expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all the products behind the bar.

Responsibilities

• Mix and serve all drinks ordered and master the execution of classic and craft cocktails
• Maintain assigned bar or station to fit guests’ needs
• Make drinks for the dining room from server orders
• Clean and maintain bar equipment
• Engage and educate guests as to why the bar programs are special
• Open and close bar(s) according to bar manual and standards
• Take drink orders at the bar
• Charge drink orders to correct guest name/room
• Set up and break down satellite bars
• Stock and maintain various inventory on the property
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Perform regular and consistent attendance to perform the essential functions of this position
• Work well with other team members and managers and interact with guests

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-year experience in the beverage area in a fine dining establishment
• Basic knowledge of wine service required
• Must have or be willing to obtain a TABC server’s permit before start date or end of the grace period
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to be on feet for an extended period
• Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge and understanding of math
• Ability to do property-wide charging and closing out of checks
• Ability to make decisions under pressure
• Ability to manage diverse tasks simultaneously
• Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

Pay

Pay Range: $20.00–$30.00 per hour. Starting compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.

Schedule

This is a seasonal position from May through November, with the potential for continued, year-round employment based on performance and business needs. Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Work environment

Dining Room, Bar and Kitchen areas. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
