Bartender
About the role
The Bartender will shape the guest experience through excellent service, product knowledge, and engaging hospitality. Your ability to craft beverages, manage bar operations, and create a welcoming atmosphere directly impacts guest satisfaction, food and beverage revenue, and brand reputation. Whether serving solo or supporting a team, your presence at the bar influences the energy and pace of service across the outlet.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cocktails and mixed drinks by combining liquor, mixers, bitters, and other ingredients according to recipes and guest requests.
- Serve wine, draft and bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and food in a timely and professional manner.
- Process guest payments and accurately collect and reconcile cash and other forms of payment.
- Order, requisition, stock, and replenish liquor, beverages, mixers, glassware, garnishes, and guest supplies.
- Maintain an organized and visually appealing bar by arranging bottled goods, glassware, and displays.
- Clean and sanitize glassware, bar surfaces, and equipment to maintain health and safety standards.
- Prepare garnishes and bar accompaniments, including slicing fruit and assembling items such as pickles, cheeses, and cold meats.
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly, welcoming demeanor and provide attentive service throughout their experience.
- When serving in a lead role, oversee assigned associates, delegate work, and ensure responsibilities are completed in the Supervisor's absence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong mixology skills with knowledge of a wide range of beverages
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
- Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and responsible alcohol service
- Positive, guest-focused attitude and a proactive approach to hospitality
- Team player with the ability to lead when required
- Attention to detail in presentation and inventory management
Qualifications
Previous bartending experience in a hotel, bar, or restaurant environment preferred. Experience with cash handling, POS systems, and bar setup/teardown. Familiarity with food pairing and cross-selling techniques considered a plus. Capable of working independently or as part of a larger service team.
Academic Background
High school diploma or equivalent required. TIPS certification or equivalent required. Must meet all state and local age requirements for serving alcohol.
