About the role

Responsibilities
- Verify the identification and age of customers
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Accept payment from customers
- Clean glasses and bar utensils
- Balance cash receipts to record sales
- Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner
- Maintain a positive demeanor and address conflicts calmly and poise
- Create and engage in a positive guest experience
- Make a variety of popular and creative cocktails and be familiar with different types of wine and beer
- Take beverage orders from guests
- Sell or influence others for upselling and suggestive selling
- Make drink suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
- Stock beer and wine, wash utensils, glasses, and tools, and wipe down surfaces
- Maintain the bar area and ensure all products, drinks, and cups are readily accessible and available for use during an event
- Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
- Collect payments from guests, process credit card transactions, and manage cash transactions accurately
- Keep an eye out for potentially unsafe situations and overindulgence, ensuring no alcohol is consumed by minors by checking IDs and responding appropriately
- Attend to guests efficiently and promptly with a friendly attitude
- Show thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, and promotions
- Provide guests with information about facilities, attractions, and activities in or outside the property
- Organize special functions as directed by management
- Stay current and up-to-date with all hotel's special events
- Project a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service
- Handle guest complaints and solve problems to the best of your ability
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of bartending and customer service experience required, with a preference for experience in the hospitality industry
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form
- Knowledge of reservation and POS systems
- Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English to communicate with guests and team members
- Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred
- Multi-tasking and detail-oriented skills
- Team player and ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high degree of autonomy
