Bartender
About the role
The bartender is tasked with curating exceptional experiences for discerning guests, blending technical expertise, creativity, and impeccable service standards. The role demands a deep understanding of classic and contemporary mixology, superior interpersonal skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest level of professionalism in every interaction that matches the luxury standards of the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Expertly prepare and present a wide range of cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, and other beverages according to hotel standards and guest preferences.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current beverage trends, cocktail recipes, and innovative presentation techniques.
- Consistently ensure that all drinks are served elegantly, with appropriate garnishes and glassware, reflecting the prestige of the hotel.
- Develop signature cocktails and seasonal specials in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager.
- Maintain accurate inventory control procedures, monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure product quality.
- Follow strict cash handling procedures, process payments accurately, and balance the cash register at the end of each shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2–3 years of experience in hotel, country club or fine dining environment.
- Thorough knowledge in POS systems (i.e., Toast) to process guest orders and payments.
- Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits and mixology, including beverage “call names” and recipes.
- Familiarity with responsible alcohol service and food handling/safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand and give general instructions in standard situations.
- Strong organizational, analytical skills, and communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage and connect with a variety of guests.
- Positive, professional demeanor and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Physical Skills: Stooping, standing, reaching, and frequent lifting of food/beverages.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a busy bar setting and assisting servers as needed.
Benefits
Hotel Granduca Houston operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Scheduling may vary based on operational needs, including shifts, start times, and total hours worked per week. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
