Bartender

About the role

We're looking for experienced Bartenders to join our team and help us open our third US restaurant in Boston's Fort Point neighborhood in fall 2026. Hawksmoor is a globally recognized restaurant group with locations in the UK, Ireland, Chicago, and New York, known for its award-winning bar program, sustainability commitment (B-Corp certified), and Platinum LEED-certified space. This role offers the opportunity to work in a 200+ guest venue with private dining, event spaces, a James Beard-recognized bar program, and an outdoor terrace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all Hawksmoor menu drinks and classic cocktails confidently and accurately.
• Build rounds efficiently, ensuring drinks are served promptly and at optimal quality.
• Make knowledgeable and engaging recommendations across cocktails, spirits (including whiskey), wine, and beer.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the food menu to confidently guide guest choices.
• Keep the back bar and bar top clean, organized, and visually appealing throughout service.
• Follow Hawksmoor Steps of Service and service standards consistently.
• Maintain up-to-date menu knowledge and handle guest feedback, complaints, or quality issues with professionalism.
• Actively contribute ideas for menu development, events, and bar initiatives.
• Embody Hawksmoor’s values with a positive, proactive, and professional attitude.
• Support other team members during service and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Complete End of Night shift reports accurately and on time.
• Adhere to all allergy awareness, cleanliness, and food safety procedures.
• Follow all opening and closing checklists to maintain a safe and compliant bar environment.
• Manage time effectively to support team priorities and daily operational needs.
• Understand comps, promotions, and their impact on budgets and business performance.
• Compile non-consumable orders for management as required.
• Follow stock rotation and storage procedures, and actively work to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Use inclusive, respectful language and treat everyone with empathy and fairness.
• Be knowledgeable about Hawksmoor’s charity partners and sustainability goals, including waste and recycling initiatives.
• Understand ingredient sourcing and the significance of Hawksmoor being a B Corporation.

Requirements

• Mobility: Must be able to move continuously around the dining room, kitchen, and bar areas during the shift.
• Lifting & Carrying: Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to ~25 to 30 lbs.
• Communication: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with guests, kitchen staff, and management.
• Cognitive: Ability to process guest requests, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Work Environment: Must be comfortable working in moderate to loud noise levels consistent with a high-volume restaurant, requiring multi-tasking under pressure.
