Bartender

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar guests.
• Assist with food service for bar guests.
• Interact with customers, take orders, and serve drinks according to recipes.
• Ensure order accuracy by entering each order into the POS system.
• Anticipate bar customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area: wash bar glasses, clean bar top and surrounding areas.
• Restock supplies during slow periods: stock alcohol, refill ice, cut fruit, change beer kegs, stock beer cooler.
• Accurately portion orders to control costs.
• Handle cash and credit transactions; ensure all sales are accounted for in the POS.
• Work with management to achieve year‑over‑year growth and profitability.
• Execute programs to increase sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
• Understand menu items and upsell effectively.
• Ensure the bar is free of hazards; correct unsafe practices immediately.
• Follow guidelines to avoid over‑serving alcohol.
• Check IDs of every patron to prevent service to minors.

Requirements

• Bar experience preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to learn all stations on the line.
• Ability to follow drink recipes and maintain accurate pour sizes.
• Ability to keep calm under pressure and handle guest complaints.
• TIPS certification.

Skills

• Computer skills: understands and can operate the POS system.
• Language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business period
