About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support U.S. tax compliance, partnership reporting, and tax provision processes for our North American operations. This role offers exposure to consolidated corporate and partnership taxation, ASC 740 & IFRS accounting for income taxes, and state and local tax issues. You will collaborate with senior tax leaders, auditors, and external advisors while gaining experience in technical research and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation and timely filing of all U.S. federal and state income tax returns for Nevada Gold Mines LLC and other Barrick entities, including partnership and consolidated corporate returns.
  • Partner with the Tax Director to shape tax strategy, research, and planning across income, property, production, payroll, sales/use, and royalties.
  • Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes and financial reporting (ASC 740/IFRS), including audit deliverables and filings.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure SOX compliance and adherence to company policies.
  • Research and analyze complex partnership and corporate tax matters (e.g., 704(c), basis adjustments, 754 elections and CAMT).
  • Develop tax projections to support budgeting, forecasting, LOM planning, and financial analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and operations to gather, validate, and interpret tax data.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality tax guidance and services to business leadership.
  • Support IRS CAP audits and coordinate with Barrick U.S. Tax Policy and Government Relations teams.
  • Assist with state and non-income tax audits in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements through technology and automation in tax compliance and reporting.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 3-5 years’ experience in U.S. corporate taxation with either public accounting or large multinational corporate, including extensive experience in U.S. and state tax compliance required.
  • Experience in tax provisions, tax planning and department process automation and technology skills preferred.
  • Master’s degree in accounting with Tax emphasis is preferred.
  • Experience in the mining, manufacturing or natural resource industries is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of and experience in U.S. consolidated corporation and partnership taxation is preferred.
  • Exposure to Accounting for Income Taxes under IFRS or ASC 740 preferred.
