Barre Group Exercise Instructor

About the role

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) seeks an energetic and experienced individual to conduct group exercise classes according to the guidelines set by the YMCA of the USA and the Director of Group Exercise. Responsibilities

• Congruently conduct group exercise classes adhering to YMCA guidelines
• Provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner
• Be a positive role model with an enthusiastic attitude
• Schedule and secure coverage for all classes
• Greet participants and take attendance
• Familiarize yourself with Upace Group Ex technology and respond promptly to emails
• Identify and accommodate participant limitations during classes
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class
• Promote a healthy lifestyle
• Attend advanced training workshops and special events
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Pilates and/or Yoga Certification is optional but desired
• Daytime, weekend, and evening hours available
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise classes required
• Obtain and maintain at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
