Barista - Lion Coffee

About the role

The Barista prepares and serves specialty beverages and baked goods to patrons under the supervision of the General Manager-Café Operations. The role involves serving all products with friendly, individualized attention, educating customers about coffee and teas, and fulfilling any other duties assigned.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers.
• Prepares and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees and teas.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils and equipment.
• Cleans service and seating areas.
• Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Describes menu items to customers or suggests products that might appeal to them.
• Orders, receives and stocks supplies.
• Serves prepared foods, such as muffins, biscotti and bagels.
• Stocks customer service stations with paper products or beverage preparation items.
• Fulfills any other duties the café manager assigns.
• Represents LION coffee in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• At least six months of customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Well-developed verbal and written English communication skills.

Skills & Abilities

• Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Language: Well-developed verbal and written English communication skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is in a café, located in a manufacturing warehouse. Moderate noise from the production area where coffee is roasted, packaged and stored.
