Harborview - Nutrition Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Barista. The Nutrition and Food Services department supports UWMC's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.
Responsibilities
Provides excellent, respectful customer service to a diverse customer base, in a medical setting. Train new or unskilled employees in the preparation and service of espresso beverages and food items; cleaning and stocking duties and departmental procedures. Operate all espresso and/or food service equipment and machinery. Prepare and serve food items. Stock supplies necessary for preparation and service of beverages and food items. Display food and espresso items in attractive manner. Operate cash register. Handle cash, check and charge payments for beverage and food items in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment
- One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
Qualifications
Independently operate a remote food service area / espresso bar. Performs routine work in preparing and serving espresso beverages and food items and cleaning activities. Performs a variety of duties in the preparation and service of espresso beverages and food items.
Schedule
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Saturday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Sunday and Monday - OFF
Pay
Pay Range Minimum: $21.70 hourly, Pay Range Maximum $24.97 hourly
