Responsibilities
- Repair Cement Pumps as part of a team
- Repair/Replace various Deck Fittings and Cables
- Repair/Replace Blowers and Dust Collectors
- Help spot at dock
- Hook-up hoses and electrical cables to barges
- Start unloading equipment
- Continuously monitor the unloading process
- Safely operate manual unloading gates, air valves and blowers
- Clean all areas of the barges, terminal and grounds
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Must have solid Industrial Mechanical skills
- Able to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime as required
- Able to speak, read, write and understand English
- Able to work independently, without constant supervision
- Able to work near water, and inside and outside in year-round weather conditions
- In good physical condition, able to bend, use broom and shovel, able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs (including large electrical cables and plugs for electrical connections)
- Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders and walk on mixed terrain and in confined spaces
- Able to work at heights up to 150 feet
- Able to operate forklifts and tractors for cutting grass
Pay
The starting rate for this position is $56,160/year. ($27/hour)
Schedule
Extended hours, holidays and/or overtime may be required.
