About the role

As a Barber Instructor, you will have a direct impact on the education of our students, teaching essential barbering techniques and fostering a passion for the craft. Your expertise and guidance will be integral to preparing students for successful careers in barbering while instilling professionalism and creativity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver instructional lessons that meet curriculum standards in barbering.
• Conduct hands-on demonstrations and practical workshops to educate students on cutting, styling, and grooming techniques.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to foster improvement.
• Create an engaging and positive classroom atmosphere that promotes student participation and motivation.
• Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the curriculum.
• Engage in faculty development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the classroom and salon environment.

Requirements

• Active Barber Educator License in the State of Illinois.
• Previous experience as a barber or relevant professional in the field is required.
• Teaching experience or certification in Barbering Education is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and mentoring students in their career development.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is between $19.00 and $23.00 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
