About the Role

Join Palestine Regional Medical Center in Palestine, TX, a 150-bed hospital that has recently earned the prestigious Leapfrog “A” Safety Grade, the Platinum Award for quality from parent-company ScionHealth, and certification as a Chest Pain Center and Level IV Trauma facility. Palestine Regional provides a range of comprehensive care, including the latest in diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis. This role supports patient dignity and well-being by providing grooming services to patients in the Psychiatric Restoration Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic grooming services including conventional haircuts and trims using cordless trimmers.
• Perform beard trims when scheduled in advance and time allows.
• Maintain equipment in clean, safe, and operable condition; report maintenance needs to designated staff.
• Follow infection control and sanitation protocols to ensure a hygienic work environment.
• Work under supervision with a Behavioral Health staff member present at all times.
• Use clean and sterilized tools and ensure patients are appropriately prepared for services.
• Maintain accurate inventory and track all tools and equipment used during services.
• Adhere to institutional policies related to patient interaction and safety.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
• Licensed Barber in the state of practice (required upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience providing barber services.
• Prior experience in behavioral health or similar patient care settings.
