About the role

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Barber or Cosmetologist based at The Avenue by Johnny Blackbeard in Lancaster, PA.

• Perform haircuts, styling, shaves, and grooming services according to client preferences and current trends
• Consult with clients about desired looks, recommend suitable products and services
• Ensure a clean, sanitized workstation and tools
• Manage appointment schedules and support walk-in clients
• Handle basic point-of-sale transactions
• Maintain a friendly, professional atmosphere
• Follow all health and safety guidelines and uphold the studio’s service standards
• Participate in occasional promotional or community events

Requirements

• Current state license as a Barber or Cosmetologist in Pennsylvania
• Demonstrated proficiency in hair cutting, styling, and grooming techniques
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to actively listen, provide consultative recommendations, and build long-term client relationships
• Commitment to hygiene and safety standards, including proper sanitation of tools and adherence to regulatory requirements
• Professional demeanor, punctuality, and reliability
• Ability to work part-time shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
• Interest in current style trends and ongoing professional development
• Experience with retail product recommendations or sales is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing individual appointments independently
