Barback - Part Time

About the role

Provides fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers, and bartenders. Serves as an ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions. Promotes casino events and programs, provides personalized service, and resolves service problems according to guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
• Provides fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers, and bartenders
• Works well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, other barbacks, beverage supervisors, and casino supervisors
• Maintains par levels of operating supplies and equipment for each bar, obtaining replacement stock from warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure
• Places liquors, fruits, glassware, linen, silverware, paper supplies, and sundries in their designated places following established storage guidelines and safety procedures
• Replaces empty draught beer kegs as required
• Slices and pits fruit, and fills ice bins with crushed or cubed ice from designated ice machines
• Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
• Removes and properly disposes of all debris accumulated at the bar in accordance with department procedures
• Wipes counter areas, sinks, and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station
• Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent; previous bar experience preferred
• Must successfully complete ServSafe training certification course
• Read, write legibly, understand, and speak English
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
• Able to respond to visual and oral cues
• Able to work in constricting areas
• Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights
• Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces

Pay

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is one component of a competitive Total Rewards package.
