About the role
This position supports the highest standards of guest service by ensuring quick, efficient, and professional Barback, Food Runner, and Dining Room Attendant services. The role requires flexibility to perform duties as requested by guests or required by the hotel, with a focus on maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in bar setup, opening, and closing procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including bar stations, glassware, and dining tables.
- Stock bar stations to par levels, including liquor bottles and supplies.
- Become familiar with liquors, beers, and menu items offered in the bar.
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, ensuring their needs are met.
- Assist bartenders and servers with requests while remaining calm and professional.
- Deliver food to correct tables using tickets, floor plans, and seat numbers.
- Check with guests upon delivery to confirm if additional service is needed.
- Clear and disinfect tables before, during, and after service.
- Think quickly, maintain concentration, and make concise decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform job functions with minimal supervision while maintaining safety standards.
- Keep work areas free of standing water, debris, or obstructions.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of food runner or Dining Room Attendant (DRA) experience preferred; other relevant hotel or food & beverage experience considered.
- Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in English with guests, management, and coworkers.
- Strong customer service, service recovery, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to work cohesively with coworkers across departments.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and follow up on guest requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be TABC certified or able to obtain a valid TABC permit.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands
- Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
- Perform repetitive motions of arms, hands, and legs.
