Barback

About the role

Casa de Montecristo gives the adult cigar consumer the premier cigar experience, featuring large selections of premium cigars, modern lounges, walk-in humidors and full bars across the multiple locations in the United States. The Barback is responsible for helping the bartender in the daily operation of the bar.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
• Replenish all liquor, beer and wine as needed in the bar during the shift.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar, refrigerators, and service areas of the bar in an organized manner.
• Assist in opening and closing side-work as assigned.
• Be responsible for receiving all liquor, beer and wine from storeroom on a daily basis.
• Assist in ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar or lounge areas.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of progressive experience in the bar industry or a related field required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

Work environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to smoke or airborne particles.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or sit.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
