Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Fills ice for all the wells.
- Prepares fruit trays and ensures backup garnishes are available.
- Restocks the bar with beer, liquor, wine, glassware, juices, etc., and maintains backup products.
- Checks draught beers for functionality and empties them if necessary.
- Gets and removes trash cans and towels as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of the bar before opening.
- Ensures all beverage dispensing units and easy bars are full and in working order.
- Helps the bartender with inventory and restocking of supplies.
- Maintains proper recycling and empties ash trays as needed.
- Assures that all coolers are on and functioning.
- Promotes positive customer relations, greets customers, and creates a friendly atmosphere.
- Takes and records drink orders from customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks according to customer specifications.
- Inputs orders at the point of sale and creates checks for each customer/party/server.
- Maintains accountability of all beverages served and presents accurate checks to guests.
- Greets customers, thanks them, and encourages repeat business.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- No felony, theft, or stealing convictions.
- Pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Navajo preference may apply.
- Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer relations skills.
- Ability to learn restaurant operations and food service principles.
- Ability to learn bartending and bar maintenance operations and customer service.
- Ability to learn all bar items and liquors.
- Ability to learn POS systems.
- Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent customer service.
- Ability to operate a cash register.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
- Knowledge of local and state alcohol beverage laws.
Physical Demands
- Stand for prolonged periods, walk, and sit.
- Use hands for dexterity of motion.
- Sometimes stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch.
- Have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
- Work is generally performed in a Casino bar setting with exposure to a loud noise level.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.
- Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
