Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Fills ice for all the wells.
  • Prepares fruit trays and ensures backup garnishes are available.
  • Restocks the bar with beer, liquor, wine, glassware, juices, etc., and maintains backup products.
  • Checks draught beers for functionality and empties them if necessary.
  • Gets and removes trash cans and towels as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the bar before opening.
  • Ensures all beverage dispensing units and easy bars are full and in working order.
  • Helps the bartender with inventory and restocking of supplies.
  • Maintains proper recycling and empties ash trays as needed.
  • Assures that all coolers are on and functioning.
  • Promotes positive customer relations, greets customers, and creates a friendly atmosphere.
  • Takes and records drink orders from customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks according to customer specifications.
  • Inputs orders at the point of sale and creates checks for each customer/party/server.
  • Maintains accountability of all beverages served and presents accurate checks to guests.
  • Greets customers, thanks them, and encourages repeat business.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • No felony, theft, or stealing convictions.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
  • Obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Navajo preference may apply.
  • Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to learn restaurant operations and food service principles.
  • Ability to learn bartending and bar maintenance operations and customer service.
  • Ability to learn all bar items and liquors.
  • Ability to learn POS systems.
  • Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Ability to operate a cash register.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Knowledge of local and state alcohol beverage laws.

Physical Demands

  • Stand for prolonged periods, walk, and sit.
  • Use hands for dexterity of motion.
  • Sometimes stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch.
  • Have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

  • Work is generally performed in a Casino bar setting with exposure to a loud noise level.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.
  • Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
