Banquets Captain - Banqueting Operations

About the role

Under the direction of the Banquets Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for the coordination and execution of banquets and special events. They provide support to the Banquets Manager while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Hard Rock Casino policies and procedures.
• Coordinate all aspects of banquets and special events, ensuring smooth execution and exceptional guest service.
• Ensure that all guests are promptly and courteously served.
• Assist in the development and implementation of event plans, including timelines, layouts, and staffing requirements.
• Inspect event spaces and equipment to ensure they are clean, well-maintained, and set up according to client specifications.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the bar throughout the shift, including wiping down bottles and the bar, removing dirty glassware and dishes, etc.
• Provide guidance and assistance to team members in day-to-day tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Non-essential Job Functions: Attend seminars when needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma required.
• Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Board standards.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Skills

• Knowledge of event planning and execution, including event logistics, timelines, and layouts.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and time schedules as needed.
• Provide exceptional guest service.
• Communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
• Speak, read, write, and understand basic English.
• Friendly, helpful personality enabling effective guest relations.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to four hours).
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay

Pay Range: $25 - $32 per hour.
