Banquet Staff

Position Overview

Slows Bar-B-Q is seeking energetic, detail-oriented Part-Time Banquet Servers to join their catering and events team. This role offers flexibility with primarily weekend and evening shifts tied to weddings, corporate gatherings, and community celebrations.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

• Set up and tear down event spaces (tables, buffet lines, equipment).
• Welcome guests with warm hospitality and answer questions about our menu.
• Serve food, replenish buffets, clear plates, and manage trash throughout the event.
• Collaborate with event captains and kitchen staff to keep the party running smoothly.
• Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in catering, banquets, or restaurant service is a plus, but training is provided to those with a great attitude and strong work ethic.
• Availability: flexible, available for events on weekdays and weekends.
• Physical Ability: able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Traits: punctual, reliable, professional appearance, and a team-first mindset.

About the Company

Slows Bar-B-Q opened in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, in 2005. Today, they operate the original flagship location, Carryout & Catering restaurant, Slows To Go in Detroit's Midtown, as well as Slows Bar Bq Ann Arbor and Slows Bar Bq Berkley. They also have a food truck and run gameday stands inside Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesars Arena.
