Banquet Set up

Responsibilities

• Prepares room as specified by the Banquet Manager and/or prospectus, including (but not limited to) displacing or dismantling dance floors; setting up/breaking down tables, chairs, platforms, and displays.
• Transports items needed for functions, such as dance floors, tables, chairs, platforms, and audiovisual equipment.
• Maintains all storage facilities of audiovisual equipment, tables, chairs, platforms, dance floors, and display equipment.
• Helps maintain the spotless appearance of the Special Events Center rooms, including clearing away debris and vacuuming.
• Sets up buffet tables, including placement of tablecloths and skirtings.
• Places and breaks down movable walls and audiovisual equipment.
• Breaks down set-up after function has concluded as specified by Banquet Manager and/or prospectus, and cleans facilities to ensure rapid turnover.
• Participates in monthly inventory and counts.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• No previous experience required, but helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
• Good math skills and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on Convention Center needs.
• Ability to lift large objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull carts weighing 200+ lbs.
• Ability to grasp, hold, reach, bend, use a step stool, and have hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours.
• Visual range must include near and far distances.
• Auditory range must include immediate environment.
• Ability to climb stairs and move quickly throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas.
• Ability to frequently tolerate extreme indoor temperatures.
• Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Non-public contact positions may require entering public areas occasionally.
