About the Role

A Banquet Server plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by providing professional and efficient food and beverage service during events. Banquet Servers ensure all guests feel welcomed and attended to, following event specifications and service standards. From setup to execution, they maintain focus on detail and hospitality, collaborating with kitchen and event staff for timely service. They also contribute to event success by maintaining cleanliness, resetting spaces, and storing equipment properly.

About The Venue

The Arvest Convention Center, located in the Arena District in downtown Tulsa, is a modern and award-winning venue providing over 275,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Owned by the City of Tulsa for over 50 years, the ACC hosts a wide variety of events and serves both local and global guests.

Responsibilities

• Reads and understands banquet event orders.
• Provides fine-dining-level food and beverage service to guests, consistent with service standards.
• Initiates and maintains friendly, professional contact with guests, anticipating and meeting their needs.
• Sets up and maintains food and beverage stations throughout the venue.
• Maintains inventory for food and beverage stations.
• Keeps event areas and front-of-house staging areas tidy and organized.
• Participates in setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items.
• Works independently during slower periods.
• Ensures a safe and clean work environment.
• Handles high levels of social contact with patrons.
• Ensures work is accurate and complete.
• Maintains a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED strongly preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• 6 months to 1 year of work experience in events, banquets, or restaurants preferred.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects frequently.
• Ability to carry at least 8 entrees per tray.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and select holidays.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Must be punctual with consistent attendance.
• Must be able to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers.

Pay

This role pays an hourly rate of $11.00 - $14.00.
