Banquet Server - Institute for Advanced Learning & Research

About the role

The Banquet Server at the Institute of Advanced Learning and Research provides food and beverage services to guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner, ensuring a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Focus on serving food and beverages to guests
• Helps prepare for and clean up after events
• Provides prompt and courteous service to all guests
• Assists with event preparation, room set up and tear down of tables, chairs, and place settings
• Assists with catering staff members as needed, to ensure optimum service for all guests
• May direct guests throughout the event
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management
• Supports other staff to ensure guest satisfaction
• Maintains composure in a demanding environment

• Strong organizational skills: ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Exemplifies good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
• Proven work experience as a Banquet Server or similar role
• Must be professional and courteous to other staff and guests
• The ability to meet the physical demands of the job, such as staying on your feet, climbing stairs, and carrying heavy objects
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
• Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions
• Relevant training and/or certifications
