About the Role
This position is accountable for creating a great experience for every guest. It requires a general knowledge of the job, hard work, and strong social skills. Open availability during weekdays and weekends is essential.
Responsibilities
- Proper set up and break down of tables, chairs, silverware, glasses, etc. for special events.
- Greet guests with a cheerful disposition and provide excellent customer service.
- Work as a team member to ensure successful banquet events.
- Direct guests to appropriate areas and assist by explaining room layout and event details.
- Serve food and/or appetizers with accurate descriptions of offerings.
- Transport service items from the back of the house to the function area.
- Clean and maintain stations: empty ashtrays, remove trash, wipe tables, remove empty glasses, push in chairs, etc.
- Maintain sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards for food and beverage service.
- Demonstrate scheduling flexibility, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts based on business needs.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned to support efficiency, productivity, or guest service.
Requirements
- Ability to cheerfully communicate with customers to create a welcoming environment.
- Expert knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
- Thorough knowledge of department policies, practices, and operations.
- Ability to analyze and resolve routine administrative details, such as scheduling conflicts.
- Professional personal presentation as outlined in the company policy manual.
- Physical ability to stand for the duration of shifts, walk frequently, bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in extreme temperatures (-10°F to 140°F).
- Ability to handle heat from cooking appliances, glassware, and washing machines.
- Normal or corrected vision to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols, and ability to communicate effectively with guests.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent. The required knowledge and skills are typically acquired within two months of on-the-job training.
