About the role
This position is available at Destination Geneva National, a renowned golf resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The club offers panoramic views of the lake and features a 56,000-square-foot clubhouse with a clubhouse restaurant, a clubhouse bar, and a putting course.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Banquet Chef in preparing menu items for banquets and events, following standardized recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Prepare a variety of appetizers, salads, main courses, desserts, and other culinary offerings, ensuring high-quality taste, texture, and presentation.
- Cook a variety of dishes with precision and attention to detail, maintaining the desired flavor, texture, and consistency of dishes.
- Coordinate with the Banquet Chef and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of food.
- Ensure proper cooking temperatures and monitor food items to prevent overcooking or undercooking.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to coordinate and synchronize the preparation and plating of multiple dishes for large-scale banquets and events.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, as well as assist with general kitchen cleaning tasks.
- Assist in the final plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring visual appeal and adherence to banquet standards.
- Apply garnishes, sauces, and artistic touches to enhance the visual impact of each plate.
- Collaborate with the Banquet Chef to ensure consistency in presentation across all banquet events.
- Communicate any special requests, dietary restrictions, or guest preferences to the Banquet Chef and culinary team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a fine dining or banquet setting.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Experience with HACCP guidelines and local health regulations.
