About Our Property
Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center - Benchmark Hospitality
High-end private hotel and conference center called Deloitte University. Closed to the public. 1,400 hotel rooms - all single occupancy, no suites. Nine restaurants and lounges including a Starbucks and Seattle's Best Coffee, and three sit-down restaurants. 200,000 square feet of meeting space - Ballrooms, Amphitheater and classrooms. Fitness Center, jogging trails and sports fields (all available to our associates to use!). All professional clientele. No weddings, holiday parties, school groups, or other social-type events. Located in Westlake, Texas - near Keller, Southlake, and Roanoke.
Responsibilities
BASIC FUNCTION: The Banquet Captain will supervise staff, coordinate banquet events assigned and implement Property and banquet policies and procedures.
- Review all BEO (banquet event orders) prior to the event to ensure we are prepared with staffing, supplies, dishware and drinks.
- Oversee banquet events to include pre-work of cleaning, polishing, organizing, and setting up drink stations.
- Ensure banquet event room is set up to the standards of the BEO (banquet event order).
- Conduct staff pre-event meetings to communicate the plan and service standards for the event.
- Monitor each event to ensure service is flawless. Assist Servers and Bartenders as needed.
- Be aware of the client’s needs during the event. Be available for the client for changes that may occur during the event.
- Oversee the breakdown of the event to ensure it closes on time and all supplies is put in appropriate areas including food, beverages, linen, supplies, dishware and more.
- Provide feedback to the staff for positive and not-so-positive actions that occurred during the event.
- Train staff on the standards and tasks that Servers and Bartenders are responsible for. Monitor Peer Trainer activities and spot check the new associates training.
- Recap events with BEO distribution to Meeting Planners or Clients, and complete end of shift Captains report.
Requirements
- Experience in the hospitality industry required.
- F&B Banquet experience desirable.
- Experience as a departmental trainer or supervisor preferred.
- Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Microsoft Teams and OneNote experience desirable.
- Knowledge of F&B Point of Sale system preferred.
- Basic Food Safety Certification and Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission Certification required within 30 days of starting and must be re-certified as needed.

$22.00 per hour, flat rate (no tips)
