Responsibilities
- Represent institutional lenders, mortgage servicers, and other secured creditors in Chapters 7, 13, and 11 bankruptcy matters.
- Manage bankruptcy files from initial referral through final resolution.
- Prepare and file proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan reviews and objections, and other bankruptcy pleadings.
- Handle loan modification and loss mitigation matters while ensuring compliance with applicable bankruptcy requirements.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances throughout Pennsylvania.
- Research legal issues, analyze case law, and develop strategic recommendations for clients.
- Provide practical legal guidance regarding bankruptcy procedures, servicing requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, trustees, and the courts.
- Maintain an organized, high-volume caseload while meeting court deadlines and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active Pennsylvania Bar license and member in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of bankruptcy attorney experience, including at least 1 year representing creditors in Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Courts.
- Strong understanding of Chapters 7, 13, and 11 bankruptcy practice.
- Experience drafting motions, pleadings, objections, and other bankruptcy-related filings.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Able to independently manage a busy caseload and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Comfortable appearing in bankruptcy courts and attending hearings throughout the state.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
