We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to support financial accuracy and daily account balancing activities in Charlotte, North Carolina. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys investigating discrepancies, maintaining organized records, and working closely with internal teams to ensure transactions are properly matched and resolved.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily reviews of financial activity to compare transactions, balances, and supporting records across bank and internal accounts.
- Investigate unreconciled items, identify the source of discrepancies, and take appropriate steps to resolve exceptions in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other balance sheet items while maintaining accurate documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Track cash movement and verify that deposits, withdrawals, and related entries are recorded correctly within financial systems.
- Communicate with internal departments and external contacts to research transaction issues and obtain information needed to complete reconciliations.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and summaries that highlight outstanding items, trends, and completed resolutions for leadership review.
- Maintain organized records of daily reconciliation activity to support compliance, transparency, and operational consistency.
Requirements
- Experience completing bank and account reconciliations in a high-volume or fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of daily balancing processes, including the review of cash activity and transaction postings.
- Ability to reconcile credit card transactions and resolve exceptions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize errors, research root causes, and follow issues through resolution.
- Effective communication skills and a customer service mindset when working with internal stakeholders or external partners.
- Comfortable using financial systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to analyze and document reconciliation activity.
