What's a Typical Day as a Bank Teller?
- Processing customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments accurately and efficiently
- Providing exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns or issues
- Maintaining an accurate cash drawer and reconciling transactions at the end of each day
- Promoting bank products and services, assisting customers with account inquiries and recommending appropriate solutions
- Ensuring compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including AML and KYC regulations
- Assisting in identifying and reporting suspicious activity or potential fraud
- Collaborating with team members to meet branch goals and improve customer service levels
- Performing administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining customer records
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Some college coursework in finance or business is preferred
- Previous experience in a customer service or banking role (a plus)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and banking software
- Ability to pass a background check and comply with all regulatory requirements
