Responsibilities
- Perform teller duties, including receiving checks and cash for deposit, verifying amounts, examining checks for endorsements, accepting loan payments, credit card payments, and processing cash advances.
- Present a helpful, cheerful, professional image when interacting with members in person or on the telephone.
- Provide information to members about Credit Union products such as money orders, teller checks, ATM and VISA cards, and attempt to cross-sell these products.
- Offer account balances and loan payoff figures to members.
- Process incoming mail and telephone transfers, answer the telephone, and assist members or transfer calls to appropriate departments.
- Balance cash drawer daily and maintain Teller Balance Record according to procedures.
- Collect funds on returned checks.
- Understand and comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, completing currency transaction reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with Credit Union Quality Standards and cross-sell services and products.
- Keep up-to-date on all services and products offered by the Credit Union and promote them as needed.
- Follow company policies and guidelines, including the Policy Manual and Code of Ethics.
- Complete all training designed to enhance capabilities, including in-house training and external seminars, workshops, etc.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant federal and state laws and regulations, as well as Credit Union Bylaws and Policies.
- Travel to other branches as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- High school diploma with strong math and English skills.
- Some accounting knowledge.
- Friendly and personable demeanor.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
