About the role
Enhance the customer experience through highly accurate transaction processing while knowledgeably and courteously answering customer questions regarding banking services. Follow bank policies and procedures, adhere to applicable government regulations, perform account maintenance duties, and may open new accounts. Balance each day’s transactions and verify cash totals.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service
- Provide excellent customer service by handling customer requests competently and courteously, including prompt acknowledgment of every customer.
- Understand the Bank’s product and service offerings; identify customer financial needs and offer solutions by engaging in conversation and establishing rapport.
- Resolve customer questions and/or problems by making observations, listening, and asking questions. Refer customers to a supervisor or appropriate department as needed.
- Operations
- Accept and process deposits, night drop deposits, loan payments, cash checks, and other transactions according to established procedures.
- Approve customer transactions in accordance with established authority levels/limits.
- Open new accounts accurately following established procedures and obtain supporting documentation as required.
- Verify cash received from vault and balance cash drawer daily.
- Assist in completing Branch Certifications.
- Perform various administrative duties such as filing, answering phones, ordering supplies, and maintaining a neat, orderly, and professional work area.
- Compliance
- Maintain current knowledge of branch operations, bank products and services, and applicable regulations.
- Operate in compliance with operational regulations and security policies and procedures.
- Other
- Perform various other duties and projects as assigned.
- Refer to Branch Services Specialist Development Plan for specific competencies required at 90 days, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months of employment.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Experience: Minimum 6 months of cash handling and customer service experience.
Skills
- Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software.
- Ability to work varied days/hours as business dictates.

- Multi-task while completing complex transactions.
- Consistently interact with customers under varying circumstances while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Effectively communicate with customers over the phone and in person.
- Frequent typing on a keyboard.
- Stand for extended periods in an open environment.
- Read, write, and count accurately.
- View computer monitors for extended periods.
- Sit, bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
- Occasionally lift or move material weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Tolerate constant exposure to moderate noise (office equipment, public traffic, etc.).
- Tolerate constant exposure to fluorescent lighting.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
Pay
$22–23 per hour.
