Bank - Dundee University or ScotGEM Final Year Medical Student only - AMU

This role is exclusively for final year medical students from Dundee University or ScotGEM, acting as Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at NHS Tayside.

About the role

As a HCSW, you will support the charge nurse and junior doctors with tasks such as taking bloods, placing cannulas, and performing ECGs to assist with the immediate (60-minute bundle) investigations for patients on the AMU. You will be supervised and supported by the charge nurse and consultant on shift.

Responsibilities

• Support the charge nurse and junior doctors in clinical tasks.
• Perform blood draws, cannulation, and ECGs as required.
• Assist with the 60-minute bundle investigations for AMU patients.

Requirements

• Must be a final year medical student from Dundee University or ScotGEM.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Provide evidence of training, skills, and experience to minimize delays in processing your application.
