About the role
The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) seeks an experienced ballet educator to join its team at UMLY School of Dance Education. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience teaching ballet technique, developing dancers through a structured curriculum, and fostering strong technical foundations, with a preference for the Vaganova Technique.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, and leads specific activities, routines, and/or games for all participants.
- Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
- Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
- Manages all equipment.
- Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
- Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
- Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referring to appropriate person.
- Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill.
- A minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
- Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
- Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill.
- Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
- Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
