About the role

Located at the BJWCH Ballas Surgery Center (450 North New Ballas Rd), this full‑time RN position works 4 days per week on a set schedule of 09:30–19:00 with no call, weekends, or holidays. The role is in the peri‑anesthesia department, providing pre‑ and post‑operative care for ambulatory surgery patients undergoing otolaryngology and ophthalmology procedures. Barnes‑Jewish West County Hospital offers specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate setting with 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms, four ICU rooms, and a park‑like campus connected to Millennium Park.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness/injury management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver.
