Bakery Processing Operator 2nd Shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm)

About the role

As a Bakery Processing Operator, you will work under general supervision to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of bakery processing machinery while maintaining a steady flow of product to the packaging lines. This role involves making minor adjustments to machinery, troubleshooting, performing maintenance, and keeping accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Operate bakery processing equipment to produce high-quality product within Quality Assurance guidelines.
• Properly mix ingredients, monitor temperature and moisture, and make necessary adjustments.
• Monitor product quality and remove improperly formed or overlapped items.
• Operate and shut down equipment according to established procedures, including changeovers and preventive maintenance.
• Communicate or escalate quality issues to appropriate team members.
• Read and follow batch sheets, including recipes and accurate weighing of raw materials.
• Monitor and log temperatures, mix times, item numbers, and raw material weights, making adjustments as needed.
• Check for foreign matter in products.
• Follow sanitation procedures for cleanups and changeovers, including chemical handling.
• Track and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Move raw ingredients using material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Maintain proper raw material levels, unload raw material trailers, and update personnel on raw material needs.
• If applicable, monitor and adjust seasoning coverage amounts.
• Adhere to safety and hygiene guidelines, maintain a clean work area, and follow safe lifting practices.
• Report defective equipment and job-related injuries to supervision.
• Perform mandatory overtime as required and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

Pay

The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $22.50. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
